The annual business surveys are presented as a reference framework for the production of statistics for the monitoring and evaluation of economic policy as defined in the Growth and Employment Strategy Paper (GESP), particularly with regard to the productive sector. It will be recalled that these surveys, interrupted in 2003, resumed in 2012 following the first General Census of Enterprises in 2009 (RGE-1).
The 2017 edition of the EAE, based on 2016 economic data, was conducted on a sample of 383 enterprises representative of the structure of the modern business as a whole. At the end of the collection, 288 modern companies were actually surveyed, representing nearly 80% of the basic sample in terms of turnover
