On the sidelines of the Annual Conference of Heads of Central and Decentralised Services of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, scheduled for February 4, 2025, the Head of this Ministerial Department, Mr. Alamine OUSMANE MEY, will present decorations on behalf of the President of the Republic to the Director General of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) as well as some of his collaborators.
This ceremony will honor three senior officials of the Institute, distinguished by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, for May 20, 2024:
– The Director General of the INS, elevated to the Dignity of Grand Officer of the Order of Valor
– Mr. Jean FOBASSO, promoted to the rank of Commander of the Order of Valour
– Mrs. Marie Antoinette FOMO, decorated Cameroonian Knight of Merit
These honorary distinctions reward the exemplary commitment and professionalism shown by these senior executives in the development and modernization of the national statistical system. They also underline the crucial role of the NSI in the production of reliable statistical data, essential for decision-making and socio-economic development in Cameroon.
