Statistics Month 2021: The INS organizes Open Days

The activity takes place from November 09 to 11, 2021, at the esplanade of the Headquarters Building and the Regional Agencies of the Institute.

As a prelude to the celebration of the31st edition of the African Statistics Day (ASD) on November 18, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) is organizing open days from November 9 to 11, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Indeed, the event organized for the first time in this thirty-five (35) meter high architectural jewel has a good participation of the sectoral administrations. Apart from the INS stand, four other stands, respectively run by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP), the Ministry of Arts and Culture (MINAC), the Ministry of Social Affairs (MINAS) and the National Shippers’ Council of Cameroon (CNCC).

Installed behind the displays where the various publications are displayed; in particular statistical yearbooks, national accounts, the bulletin of indicators, the statistical law, economic outlooks, news and social statistics bulletins, etc. Exhibitors present their products to visitors who jostle to consult the documents and find out about their accessibility. For exhibitors, the main objective is to succeed in raising awareness among as many people as possible about the publications produced, which are available and searchable and the statistical data free and accessible to all.

In addition, after the closing of these Awareness Days, the chronogram of activities of this31st edition provides for a conference debate on November 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. on the theme of the JAS, namely: “Modernize national statistical systems to support socio-cultural development in Africa”.

While waiting for the official statement of the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) on November 18, the exhibitions that also take place in the ten Regional Agencies of the INS continue until Wednesday, November 11, 2021.
