Gender issues at the centre of a workshop between producers and users of statistical data

The National Institute of Statistics is organizing in collaboration with UN Women a Workshop to strengthen the dialogue between users and producers of gender statistics at the national and local levels.

The meeting was held on October 20 and 21, 2020 in Yaoundé and brought together officials from public and private administrations.

The main objective of this meeting is to improve the conditions for sharing and using statistical data related to gender. Discussions took place on the needs for economic and social statistics related to gender, on the constraints related to the production of these data and the challenges of their use. Participants were also given a presentation on the statistical databases available. In this regard, it was learned that a platform for the dissemination of gender-related data is being developed. In addition, actors and officials of the local governance sector were invited to these exchanges.
