The workshop dedicated to this purpose is being held in the city of Ebolowa from 6 to 10 October 2020.
Officials from the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) in collaboration with statistical experts from the National Institute of Statistics have been meeting since October 6 and until the 10th of the same month to finalize the national, regional monograph documents, as well as those of the cities of Yaoundé and Douala.
The objective of the five-day workshop was to review the structure of the thirteen documents, the quality of the statistical data contained therein and the coherence of the text formulated.
The monographs are reports analyzing the socio-economic and socio-demographic situations of Cameroon, but also of each of the ten regions of the country, as well as the cities of Yaoundé and Douala. They provide information on development indicators down to the municipal level and thus promote decision-making in the implementation of local development policies.
The production of these documents was financed by the World Bank through the Project for the Improvement of the Efficiency of Public Expenditure and the Statistical System (PEPS), in order to best support decentralization. The publication of the thirteen monographs will take place by the end of 2020.
