Study on the baseline situation of justice and crime indicators in Cameroon in 2014

During the first quarter of 2014, the INS launched a study aimed at producing judicial and crime indicators. The objective of this study is to establish a baseline of indicators related to justice and crime.

At the end of the study, it is expected that indicators will be available to assess and monitor the judicial and crime system on an ongoing basis throughout the national territory.

Two preparatory workshops to finalize the list of indicators and to develop an effective collection methodology were held in February 2014.

The data collection is scheduled for March and will last two weeks. The interim report is expected in April 2014.

The study benefits from the participation of sectoral experts in the fields concerned, namely: the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, the National Gendarmerie, the Secretary of State for Defense.

The study is funded by the European Union through the Public Finance Reform Support Programme – Support to the National Statistical System (PARFIP/SSN).
