Statistical Plans
The three-year programme of statistical operations 2003 to 2005 aims to identify and plan all the statistical operations to be carried out by the entire National Statistical Information System of Cameroon over the next three years.
This three-year programming exercise will henceforth be carried out according to a rolling approach from year to year. The rolling nature of programming allows for a closer assessment of activities that are included in the programme at a later date and that were to be implemented during the current biennium, and if necessary, to make adjustments according to the new context or new constraints.
This programme, at the same time as it constitutes an instrument for planning and guiding the National Statistical Information System (SNIS) by offering a synoptic vision of the operations to be carried out and their coherence, is also an advocacy tool with the Government and its development partners in the context of poverty reduction programmes (statistical monitoring of progress indicators). In the same way, by constituting a powerful tool for the development of statistics as a discipline contributing to decision-making in the field of economic and social policies, this programme makes it possible for the country to have a real Social Scoreboard because of the quantity, quality and variety of data that will be collected.
The operations mentioned here are divided into three (03) groups according to the priority levels of implementation: priority operations, second-order operations and current statistical campaigns
