The National Institute of Statistics is pleased to present the report of the key results of the fifth Cameroon Demographic and Health Survey (ESDC-V) carried out in the field from June 16, 2018 to January 19, 2019, by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health.
The survey was funded by the Government of Cameroon, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Global Fund through the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP). Other institutions have also contributed their expertise to the realization of this operation. Among them are the Pasteur Center of Cameroon (CPC) for the analysis of blood samples to estimate HIV prevalence, and the Chantal Biya International Reference Center (CIRCB) for the external quality control of HIV tests. ICF provided technical assistance to the entire project through the USAID-funded Global Demographic and Health Survey Program, The DHS Program, which aims to provide support and technical assistance to countries around the world in conducting population and health surveys.
