As part of the process of implementing decentralization, which is one of the pillars of the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (SND30), the production and dissemination of statistical information at the level of decentralized local authorities (CTDs) is a governance requirement. Thus, the Regional Agencies of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), located in the ten regions, must support these new structures, i.e. the regions and municipalities to have access to quality statistics in near real time. And among the means of disseminating this information, the Regional Statistical Yearbook is today the most practical for responding to these concerns. An annual compilation of all current statistics in different areas of life at the socio-economic and socio-cultural level, at the regional level, this reference publication aims to meet the information needs of the local executive, the Commune and the Region, while contributing, through vertical aggregation, to the development of the National Statistical Yearbook. It is intended to be a fundamental tool for fact-based decision-making. These data are generally obtained from local administrative sources and from large national surveys disaggregated at local level where possible. The National Institute of Statistics, as coordinator of the National Statistical Information System (SNIS), thanks the various structures that regularly contribute to the production of this document by providing good quality information. Through this collaboration, they participate in the animation of the National Statistical Information System (SNIS), established by Law No. 2020/010 of July 20, 2020 governing statistical activity in Cameroon.
