It is a renewed pleasure for the Regional Agency of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of the South to present the sixth edition of the statistical yearbook of the Region. The objective of this document is to make the statistics of the sectoral administrations present in the Region available to users in a cross-cutting reference document, in order to facilitate their popularization and use.
The 2020 edition of the statistical yearbook of the South includes 17 chapters organized into 03 main parts: Territory and Climatology, Population and Social Affairs and Economic Activities. The first part situates the Southern Region in its physical setting and describes its institutional, administrative and political organization. The second part highlights information on the
socio-demographic characteristics of the Region. Finally, the third part traces the situation of the Region’s economy in all areas and presents the situation on the implementation of the 2019 Public Investment Budget. A presentation of the country’s economic indicators from the note on the 2019 national accounts and inflation data is made in this section.
