Evolution of household final consumer prices in Douala in September 2022


Inflationary pressures on food products did not fade in September (+10.4% on average over

the last twelve months), the costs of restaurant and hotel services increased in one month by 1.9%.

Compared to the previous month, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in September 2022. Compared to the same month in 2021, the general price level increased by 6.9%. On average over the last twelve months, prices have increased by 4.4%, above the threshold set by the CEMAC at 3%. The core inflation rate, which does not take into account the prices of domestic oil and gas products in particular, is 4.0%.
