2018 DEMOGRAPHIC AND HEALTH SURVEY

This report presents the results of the fifth Cameroon Demographic and Health survey (CDHS-V) carried out on the field from the 16th june 2018 to 19th January 2019, by the National Institute of Statistics (NIS), with the close collaboration of the Ministry of Public Health. The survey was funded by the Cameroon government, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Presidential Initiative of the United States Against Malaria, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Global Fund through the National Malaria Control Programme. In addition, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) the contributed to the funding of the module on tobacco smoking. Other institutions also brought in their expertise to realize this operation. Among them are the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun (CPC) for the laboratory analyses of blood samples for HIV tests and the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre (CIRCB) for external quality control of HIV tests. ICF provided technical support to the entire project through The DHS Program, a USAID-funded project providing support and technical assistance in the implementation of population and health
surveys in countries worldwide
