The National Institute of Statistics (NIS) is very honored to present to you the 2024 edition of the statistical yearbook of the South Region. The production of a statistical yearbook is the first deliverable of any Institute. The objective of this document is to make available to users the statistics of the sectoral administrations present in the Region in a cross cutting reference document, in order to facilitate their popularization and use. Like the 2023 edition, this edition includes 25 chapters organized into 03 main parts: Territory and Climatology, Population and Social Affairs and Economic Activities. The first part situates the SOUTH Region in its physical framework and describes its institutional, administrative and political organization. The second part highlights information on the socio-demographic characteristics of the Region. Finally, the third part traces the situation of the Region’s economy in all areas and presents the situation on the execution of the Public Investment Budget. A presentation of the country’s economic indicators from the note on the 2023 national accounts and inflation data is made in this part.
