Department of Computer Science
Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Department of Informatics is responsible for:
- the development and implementation of the master plan for the computerization of services;
- the study, design and development of databases and databases;
- the design and execution of computer work for the needs of the Institute’s activities, including surveys, censuses, archiving, data compilation;
- the management and development of information and communication technologies, networks, software and the maintenance of computer equipment and hardware;
- the technical administration of the website and the Intranet in liaison with the competent technical services and administrations;
- the implementation of the IT security policy in conjunction with the other departments;
- the choice of platforms for the development of computer applications;
- the processing of cartographic data;
- the design, development and updating of databases, databases, geographic information systems and webmapping;
- updating and digital archiving of maps and other cartographic documents for censuses and surveys;
- the design, development and updating of geographic information management tools in collaboration with the competent technical services;
- the design and updating of the register of localities in collaboration with the technical services, administrations and bodies concerned;
- technology watch in the field of IT.
