Department of Computer Science

Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Department of Informatics is responsible for:

  • the development and implementation of the master plan for the computerization of services;
  • the study, design and development of databases and databases;
  • the design and execution of computer work for the needs of the Institute’s activities, including surveys, censuses, archiving, data compilation;
  • the management and development of information and communication technologies, networks, software and the maintenance of computer equipment and hardware;
  • the technical administration of the website and the Intranet in liaison with the competent technical services and administrations;
  • the implementation of the IT security policy in conjunction with the other departments;
  • the choice of platforms for the development of computer applications;
  • the processing of cartographic data;
  • the design, development and updating of databases, databases, geographic information systems and webmapping;
  • updating and digital archiving of maps and other cartographic documents for censuses and surveys;
  • the design, development and updating of geographic information management tools in collaboration with the competent technical services;
  • the design and updating of the register of localities in collaboration with the technical services, administrations and bodies concerned;
  • technology watch in the field of IT.

It includes:

  • the Processing and Geographic Information Systems Division;
  • Application Development and Maintenance Division
