Department of Economic Syntheses
Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Department of Economic Syntheses is responsible for:
- the preparation of quarterly national accounts;
- the preparation of provisional national accounts;
- the preparation of final national accounts;
- the preparation of regional accounts in conjunction with the Regional Agencies and the administrations concerned;
- the preparation of the quarterly economic bulletin;
- the development and analysis of macroeconomic convergence indicators as part of the monitoring of the Government’s economic programs;
- the preparation and analysis of short-term information as well as the periodic synthesis;
- the development of the social accounting matrix;
- monitoring foreign trade statistics;
- the preparation of satellite accounts in liaison with the administrations and bodies concerned;
- the carrying out or participation in the carrying out of economic studies;
- the implementation of alternative census and survey methodologies among public administrations and non-profit institutions serving households in collaboration with the structures and organizations concerned;
- the compilation of sectoral statistics in its field of competence.
It includes:
- the National Accounts Division;
- the Division of Economic Analyses.
