Department of Statistical Coordination, Cooperation and Research
Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Department of Statistical Coordination, Cooperation and Research is responsible for:
- the elaboration of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics;
- the implementation and monitoring of activities around the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics;
- the standardization and popularization of statistical standards and concepts;
- monitoring the activities of the Technical Secretariat of the National Statistical Council;
- the revision of the Institute’s publications;
- the promotion of statistics and the Institute’s expertise;
- the production of the national statistical yearbook;
- the exploration and negotiation of partnership agreements and conventions in conjunction with the structures concerned;
- monitoring international cooperation in the field of statistics and relations with international organizations in the field of statistics;
- the development and implementation of the communication policy and the dissemination of official statistics in collaboration with the Communication and Public Relations Unit;
- monitoring of treaties, charters, conventions and other international commitments in the field of statistics;
- the management of the Institute’s statistical documentation centre and archives;
- the centralization of computer programs developed in the context of statistical processing;
- the design and delivery of the Institute’s applied research program;
- carrying out methodological work at the request of the Institute’s other departments and sectoral statistical services.
It includes:
- the Statistical Coordination and Dissemination Division;
- the Division of Cooperation, Revision and Applied Research.
