Department of Statistical Coordination, Cooperation and Research

Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Department of Statistical Coordination, Cooperation and Research is responsible for:

the elaboration of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics;
the implementation and monitoring of activities around the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics;
the standardization and popularization of statistical standards and concepts;
monitoring the activities of the Technical Secretariat of the National Statistical Council;
the revision of the Institute’s publications;
the promotion of statistics and the Institute’s expertise;
the production of the national statistical yearbook;
the exploration and negotiation of partnership agreements and conventions in conjunction with the structures concerned;
monitoring international cooperation in the field of statistics and relations with international organizations in the field of statistics;
the development and implementation of the communication policy and the dissemination of official statistics in collaboration with the Communication and Public Relations Unit;
monitoring of treaties, charters, conventions and other international commitments in the field of statistics;
the management of the Institute’s statistical documentation centre and archives;
the centralization of computer programs developed in the context of statistical processing;
the design and delivery of the Institute’s applied research program;
carrying out methodological work at the request of the Institute’s other departments and sectoral statistical services.
