Update of Cameroon’s socio-economic database (www.devinfo.org/camsed)

The INS has undertaken a major update of the socio-demographic database (http://www.devinfo.org/camsed) of Cameroon. This database was developed in 2009 using DevInfo technology. The work has made it possible to restructure the database to, in addition to the current functions, facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of the CEDP. Thus, the main performance indicators relating to the programs of the Priority Action Plans of the ministries have been identified and organized according to the sectoral nomenclature of the Growth and Employment Strategy Paper (DCSE) and according to the objectives of Cameroon’s Vision 2035. At the end of the process, it is envisaged that the CamSED database will position itself as the reference tool for the monitoring/evaluation of the CEDP.

To this end, the main sectoral ministries involved (15) were involved. The INS received financial support from UNICEF, which covered the costs of organizing the following three workshops: Ownership of CamSED (8 to 10 August), Technical preparation for the updating process (19 to 24 August) and Updating the database (29 October to 2 November 2012).
