The National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Cameroon received from 22 May to 1 June 2009 a team from Rwanda composed of senior officials from the INS, UNFPA and UNICEF Rwanda. The main objective of this mission is an exchange of experiences in the implementation of the Integrated Data Management System (IMIS) and DevInfo. Specifically, this mission wanted to:
- Learn how both IMIS and DevInfo are operational for the monitoring of socio-economic statistics, including monitoring changes in the MDGs and other sectoral policies at the decentralized and national levels;
- To gain a better understanding in the use of these two tools for the management and dissemination of information at the national and decentralized levels;
- Ensure the good quality and added value of the IMIS/DEVINFO twinned system for decision-makers;
- Discuss with the Cameroon team the process of implementing the databases;
- Develop partnerships for the exchange of experience and collaboration. At the end of the work, it appears that IMIS and DevInfo are useful complementary tools for the dissemination of information.
