The objective of this policy brief is to inform the Government, development partners, economic operators and the population on the socio-economic effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Cameroon. Thus, based on the results of an evaluation survey conducted among businesses and households over the period from April 27 to May 10, 2020, it appears that the population is sufficiently informed of the existence of COVID-19, is aware of the measures taken and adheres to the application of barrier measures. In addition, there is a negative impact on business activities, as well as on the way and standard of living of the population. This situation is reflected in particular in the upsurge in unemployment and the general decline in household incomes. Faced with these consequences, both companies and the population have adopted resilience measures and are proposing immediate solutions to deal with this pandemic. Also, medium and long-term policies are being formulated for decision-makers to improve the recovery and dynamism of activity after the pandemic.
