The Industrial Producer Price Index (IPPI) for the 4th quarter of 2024 recorded an increase of 5.9% year-on-year. This increase was mainly attributable to strong price increases in the wood (+8.9%), agri-food (+4.9%) and mining (+10.2%) industries, potentially reflecting strong demand and higher input costs in these sectors. However, some branches experienced price decreases, notably the manufacture of metal products (-0.5%), suggesting different market conditions such as increased competition or lower demand. Compared to the previous quarter, the evolution of producer prices indicates a quasi-stabilization (-0.4%), thus contrasting with the year-on-year increase. This decline was more pronounced in woodworking and manufacture of articles of wood except furniture (-3.6%).
