Brief on trends in household final consumer prices in Yaounde in August 2022

Inflation keeps on rising, driven mainly by food prices which increased year-on-year by 14.9%.

Compared to the previous month, the general level of prices increased by 0.7% in August 2022. Compared to the same month in 2021, prices have risen by 7.4%. On average over the past twelve months, prices have risen by 4.3%, thus standing above the threshold set at 3% by the Central African Economic and Monetary Community. The underlying inflation rate is 3.9%.
