Evolution of household final consumer prices in Douala in August 2022

Inflationary pressures on food products have intensified: +14.5% year-on-year, education costs have increased by 3.0% in one month.

Compared to the previous month, consumer prices rose by 0.6% in August 2022. Compared to the same month in 2021, the general price level increased by 6.6%. On average over the last twelve months, prices have increased by 4.0%, above the threshold set by the CEMAC at 3%. The core inflation rate is 3.6%.
