Note on the evolution of household final consumer prices in Douala in July 2022

Food prices up 1.3.9% year-on-year, stoking tensions
inflationary measures.

Month-to-month previous, the month of jUillet 2022 recorded an increase in some pRix from 0,6%, resultant chiefly acceleration of 1,3% of the prices of the Food, of 1.7% of those of “ Goods and services diverse and from 0,8% some Prices of « Restaurants and hotels ». The increase inFood prices results mainly in of inflation from 11,8% oils and fats as well as of 0,7% some vegetables. The 11.8% increase in the prices of oils and fats is mainly due to the surge in the prices of crude oils and refined oils. Vegetable prices are rising in line with the increase in the prices of tubers and plantains as well as fresh leafy vegetables.
