In partnership with the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART), the National Institute of Statistics is conducting a survey on the access, uses and perception of electronic communications services among consumers in Cameroon.
The main objective of this study is to produce and make available to the ART a set of relevant indicators to have a better visibility on the access, uses and perception of electronic communications services among consumers in Cameroon, as well as the Digital Access Index (DAI) and the ICT Development Index (IDI). The study is made up of two parts: households and businesses.
The first part covered a representative sample of 3896 households (1952 households in urban areas and 1944 households in rural areas) spread over all 12 survey regions where Douala and Yaoundé were survey regions for the occasion.
The second part of the study covered a representative sample of 300 private companies and 95 administrative structures spread over all 12 regions.
The field data collection work was carried out over 15 days during the month of January 2014.
The data is being exploited and the first results will be available in April 2014.
