This rebound is mainly due to the increase in transport prices (+0.7% after -0.4% the previous month), food products (+0.2% after -0.4% the previous month) as well as housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels (+0.3% after +0.1% the previous month)<br \/>\nCompared to the same period in 2019, the general price level increased in February 2020 by 2.4%,  Just like last month. This increase is largely due to the increase in the prices of food products (+4.2% after +5.5% the previous month), clothing and footwear (+3.1% as in the previous month), restaurants and hotels (+2.9% after +2.5% the previous month) as well as transport (+1.6% after +1.0% the previous month).<br \/>\nOn average over the last twelve months, the general price level has increased by 2.4%, at the same pace as in January 2020. The inflation observed this month is mainly due to the increase in the prices of food products (+4.6% as last month), restaurants and hotels (+4.1% after +4.2% the previous month), miscellaneous goods and services (+4.6% as last month), as well as clothing and footwear (+3.4% compared to last month). In contrast, the prices of housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels fell by 0.9% after a 1.0% decline in January 2019.<br \/>\nThe core inflation rate stands at 2.1%. The inflationary pressures observed in Douala were therefore not only maintained by fresh products (+6.8%). Energy prices fell by 4.9%.
