The price increase observed this month is mainly due to the rebound in the prices of food products (+0.5% after -0.2% the previous month), transport (+0.2% after -0.3% the previous month) as well as miscellaneous goods and services (+0.2% after -0.2% the previous month).<br \/>\nCompared to the same period in 2019, the general price level increased by 1.9%, after 2.5% in January 2020. This price increase is mainly due to the increase in the prices of food products (+3.7% after +6.1% the previous month) as well as restaurants and hotels (+2.7% as last month).<br \/>\nOn average over the last twelve months, the general price level increased by 2.3%, after 2.4% in January 2020. The inflation observed is largely the result of the rise in the prices of food products (+4.8% after +4.9% the previous month) as well as restaurants and hotels (+3.5% after +3.6%).<br \/>\nThe core inflation rate stands at +1.2%. The inflationary pressures observed in Yaound\u00e9 in February 2020 were therefore not only maintained by fresh produce (+8.7%). Energy prices fell by 2.6%.
