This decline observed at the beginning of the year is mainly due to the decline in the prices of food products (-0.4% after +0.7% the previous month), clothing and footwear (-1.3% after +0.6% the previous month), as well as transport (-0.4% after +0.7% the previous month).<br \/>\nCompared to the same period in 2019, the general price level increased in January 2020 by 2.4%, after 2.0% in December 2019. This increase is largely due to the increase in the prices of food products (+5.5% after +4.1% the previous month), clothing and footwear (+3.1% after +3.2% the previous month), restaurants and hotels (+2.5% after +2.8% the previous month) as well as goods and services (+3.4% after +3.8% the previous month).<br \/>\nOn average over the last twelve months, the general price level increased by 2.4%, as in December 2019. The inflation observed this month is mainly due to the increase in the prices of food products (+4.6% after +4.4% the previous month), restaurants and hotels (+4.2% after +4.4% the previous month), miscellaneous goods and services (+4.6% after +4.7% the previous month), as well as clothing and footwear (+3.4% after +3.5% the previous month).
