role=\"presentation\">A trade deficit of 701 billion CFA francs, an improvement of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">38.7<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">% compared <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to the first three quarters of 2021<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page48R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">During the first 9 months of 2022, the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">trade balance deficit amounted to <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">701 billion CFA francs, a decrease <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">442<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">billion<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">CFA<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">francs<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(-38.7%)<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">compared <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to the same period of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2021. <\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">This<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">improvement<\/span> in <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">trade <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">deficit<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is the result of an increase in the value of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">exports<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(49.0%)<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">greater than <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that of imports (13.4%) compared to <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the same period of 2021. <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><\/span><\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The coverage rate increased by more than 10 <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">percentage points year-on-year <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to 78%. <\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Excluding crude oil, the trade balance deficit <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">stands at 1,814 billion <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">CFA francs, a worsening of 114 billion <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">CFA francs<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(6.7%)<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">compared<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to the<\/span> first <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">three <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">quarters of 2021. <\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid6\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid8\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">non-crude<\/span> oil coverage ratio improved <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">by about<\/span> 4 percentage points compared to <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the same period <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of 2021 to 43.1%.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Export earnings up 49%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page48R_mcid16\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In the first nine months of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the year  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2022,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Recipes<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">export<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of the  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Cameroon is worth 2,487 billion  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">FCFA<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">5,9<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">million<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Tonnes<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">goods, thus recording increases  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">49% in value and 2.1% in quantity per  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">report<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">at<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">period<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Corresponding<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2021.  <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid17\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">rise<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">some<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Recipes<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of exports<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">east  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">due to AUG<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ment of sales of  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">some major export products.  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">He<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">essentially<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">gas<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">natural  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(138.2%) and crude oil (64.8%).  <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid18\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page48R_mcid19\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Exports<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">remain<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">very<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">undiversified <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">made up of <\/span><\/span><\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">mainly primary products.
