{"id":17615,"date":"2023-06-01T10:04:29","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T09:04:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/statistique\/quarterly-national-accounts-4th-quarter-2022\/"},"modified":"2023-06-01T10:04:29","modified_gmt":"2023-06-01T09:04:29","slug":"quarterly-national-accounts-4th-quarter-2022","status":"publish","type":"statistique","link":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/statistique\/quarterly-national-accounts-4th-quarter-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Quarterly National Accounts (4th quarter 2022)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span id=\"page22R_mcid0\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The fourth quarter of 2022<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">was marked by<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">sustained<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">growth<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in economic activity,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">reflected in a<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">GDP growth rate of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3.9<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">% compared<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to the same quarter of 2021<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page22R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">On the supply side<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, this evolution is reflected in the good<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">performance of the three sectors of activity, which each make a<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">positive contribution, although the dynamics are slowing down in the primary and tertiary sectors unlike the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">secondary sector, Indeed, compared to the same period in 2021, the primary and secondary sectors contribute <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">GDP growth for the quarter by 0.5 points and 0.7 points respectively, while the tertiary sector continues<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to be the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">engine of economic growth, with a contribution of 2.3 points. <\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page22R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page22R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The performance of the primary sector is a consequence of the good performance observed in the forestry and forestry (<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">0.2 points) and<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">industrial and<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">export<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">agriculture<\/span> (<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">0.1 points). On the other hand <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Activity was <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">almost stable in the branches<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of subsistence agriculture and livestock, hunting and fishing<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">. <\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page22R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In the secondary sector, the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">crude oil and natural gas extraction<\/span> branch <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">returned to positive growth in the <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">this quarter after more than eight quarters of recession.
