{"id":17618,"date":"2023-03-29T15:09:01","date_gmt":"2023-03-29T14:09:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/statistique\/methodology-for-compiling-financial-accounts-2016-base\/"},"modified":"2023-03-29T15:09:01","modified_gmt":"2023-03-29T14:09:01","slug":"methodology-for-compiling-financial-accounts-2016-base","status":"publish","type":"statistique","link":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/statistique\/methodology-for-compiling-financial-accounts-2016-base\/","title":{"rendered":"Methodology for compiling financial accounts &#8211; 2016 base"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page45R_mcid1\" class=\"markedContent\">In December 2018, <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the National Institute of Statistics<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(INS) began work to change <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the base year of<\/span> Cameroon&#8217;s national accounts<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, which went from<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2005 to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2016. <\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page45R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">This work<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">benefited from the financial support of the Government<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, through the Ministry of Finance <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(MINFI) and the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT), <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">as well as technical assistance from AFRITAC-Centre<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(AFC). <\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page45R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The change<\/span> in <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">base year of the national accounts (rebasing) is a normal exercise of the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">methodology for compiling national accounts,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">which aims to renovate<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the instrument for measuring <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the country&#8217;s economic activity, whether<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are the national accounts. International practice in the   <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">recommended to do this every five or ten years.  <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page45R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The first results of this work were published in December 2020, with the GDP for <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the year 2016 being reassessed upwards by 3.6% compared to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the same year in 2005. <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page45R_mcid5\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">One of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the objectives of the project for this<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">change of base year was to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">extend the scope of<\/span> the<br role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">coverage of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Cameroon&#8217;s national accounts to accumulation accounts (<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">financial accounts, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">accounts of other volume changes, and revaluation accounts), and balance sheets <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","format":[626],"meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"annee":[],"region":[],"domaines":[],"class_list":["post-17618","statistique","type-statistique","status-publish","hentry","format-data"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique\/17618","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/statistique"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique\/17618\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17618"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"annee","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/annee?post=17618"},{"taxonomy":"region","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/region?post=17618"},{"taxonomy":"format","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/format?post=17618"},{"taxonomy":"domaine","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/domaines?post=17618"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
