This is the highest inflation rate after <\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">9.0% <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">1995. <\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid17\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">highest inflation rate<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is recorded in<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Ngaoundere<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and the lowest <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in Garoua. <\/span> <\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid18\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In 2022, the community threshold of 3%<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">was<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">exceeded in <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">all cities<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, namely: Ngaound\u00e9r\u00e9 (+7.4% after +1.0% in 2021), <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Bafoussam (+7.3% after 2.4% in 2021), Buea (+7.1% after +1.7% <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in 2021), Bam<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">enda (+6.8% after +3.8% in 2021), Maroua (+6.4% <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">after +3.2% in 2021), Yaound\u00e9 (+6.2% after +1.8% in 2021), <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Douala (+5.7% after +1.9% in 2021),  Bertoua (+5.5% after 4.4% <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in 2021), Ebolowa (+5.7% after +3.7% in 2021), and Garoua (+5.4% <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">after +2.1% in 2021). <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid19\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid20\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid21\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><strong><span id=\"page3R_mcid25\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Inflation feeds on soaring food prices<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span id=\"page3R_mcid26\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In 202<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, the general price level is largely supported<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">by the 12.9% increase in the prices of the  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and 6.3% of the prices of restaurant and hotel services<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The main<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Product price increases  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">have concerned<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">oils and fats (27.0%), breads and cereals (16.3%),<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">fish and seafood (14.4%),  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">l<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Meat (12.2%),<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">l<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">milk, cheese and eggs (10.7%) and<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">l<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">vegetables (7.6%).<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The increase in restaurant prices and  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">hotels are mainly the result of the 10.1% increase in the number of<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">u<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Prices of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">service<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">s<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">restaurant<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">. By garlic<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">theirs, c<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Some materials of  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">construction<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">usually<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Used<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">by<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Households<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">their<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Small<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">road repairs<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">construction<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">or<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from  <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Rehabilitation\/Repair<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">suffer from soaring prices<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">.
