The implementation of the National Nutrition Policy will enable by 2030 to reduce morbidity and mortality rates related to undernutrition and overnutrition in children, adolescents, pregnant or breastfeeding women and the elderly, through the improvement of their nutritional status in accordance with Sustainable Development Objective No. 2: \u201cEnd hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The government&#8217;s priority nutrition interventions focus on:<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0 promotion of good infant and young child feeding practices through early and exclusive<br \/>\nbreastfeeding for up to six months, introduction of complementary feeding from the age of<br \/>\nsix months and continuation breastfeeding up to 24 months;<br \/>\n&#8211; promotion of community nutrition in health areas at the national level;<br \/>\n&#8211; prevention of micronutrient deficiencies, including vitamin A supplementation and<br \/>\ndeworming of children 6-59 months of age, the use of zinc in the treatment of diarrhoea,<br \/>\niron and folic acid supplementation of pregnant women and breastfeeding women and<br \/>\nhome fortification using micronutrient powders;<br \/>\n&#8211; implementation of the baby-friendly hospital initiative; and<br \/>\n&#8211; improvement of the management of acute malnutrition, particularly through the<br \/>\nimplementation of the National Protocol for the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","format":[583],"meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"annee":[],"region":[],"domaines":[],"class_list":["post-9880","statistique","type-statistique","status-publish","hentry","format-donnees-2"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique\/9880","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/statistique"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique\/9880\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":16265,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/statistique\/9880\/revisions\/16265"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9880"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"annee","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/annee?post=9880"},{"taxonomy":"region","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/region?post=9880"},{"taxonomy":"format","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/format?post=9880"},{"taxonomy":"domaine","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ins-cameroun.cm\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/domaines?post=9880"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
