Up<\/span> by 13.<\/span>7<\/span>%<\/span> year<\/span>–<\/span>on<\/span>–<\/span>year<\/span>, food product prices are fuelling inflationary pressures.<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Compared to<\/span> the previous month, the overall price level rose<\/span> by 0.8%<\/span> in July 2022<\/span>,<\/span> mainly as a result of<\/span> a<\/span> 1.5% <\/span>increase in food prices and a 2.3% spike in \u201crestaurants and hotels\u201d prices. <\/span><\/span>The increase<\/span> in food prices was primarily as a result of 8.1%<\/span> acceleration in<\/span> the<\/span> prices of oils and fats. Prices of <\/span>vegetables, fish<\/span>es<\/span> and seafood as well as bread<\/span>s<\/span> and cer<\/span>eals kept rising, but at a slower pace than<\/span> in the previous <\/span>month. Conversely<\/span>, meat prices fell by 0.5% after rising by 1.9%<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> previous month<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>
