Note on the evolution of household final consumer prices in Yaoundé in October 2019

In October 2019 and relative to September 2019, the Household Final Consumer Price Index increased by 0.2%, after +0.1% the previous month. This monthly increase is largely the result of the rebound in food prices (+0.5% after +0.2% the previous month) and the recovery in the prices of housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels (+0.5% after -0.1% last month). The prices of communications (+0.4% after +0.2% last month), clothing and footwear (+0.1% after +0.3% the previous month) and those of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (+0.1% after +0.2% last month) also increased. The prices of furniture, household items and routine home maintenance, health, transport, leisure and culture, education, restaurant and hotel services, and miscellaneous goods and services, remained stable in October 2019.
