The work was held on December 20, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the room dedicated to this purpose at the INS headquarters in Yaoundé.
For the last of 2021, the Minister President of the Board of Directors of the INS was earlier than usual, but still as punctual. At 8:30 a.m. sharp, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi entered the Council chamber in the presence of the members of this assembly who certainly slept with one eye open so as not to miss this major event in the life of the INS. Indeed, the 34th session of this Council is a budget session. This is the time when the Executive Directors decide on the envelope that will be allocated to the NSI to carry out its missions during the following budget year. As 2022 is also the start of a triennial, the Board also voted on the forecasts for the next three years. Two key documents were submitted to the Council for consideration, namely: the Priority Action Plan for the 2022-2024 triennium and the 2022 Performance Project.
At the end of the deliberations, which lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, the Council adopted the 2022-2024 Priority Action Plan and the 2022 Performance Project, whose budget request amounts to more than 8 billion CFA francs.
Now very well known in business circles, but a journalist and editor-in-chief of a daily newspaper in a previous life, Alain Blaise Batongue was welcomed by the members of the Board as Director representing the private sector.
