Entry of statistical and tax returns

One of the missions assigned to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) is the collection, exploitation and archiving of statistical and tax declarations (DSF) of companies.

Through an agreement signed between the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) and the INS, the coverage rate of DSFs has improved considerably from 400 in 1995 to nearly 6000 DSFs in 2007. Since this year, the number of DSF received at the INS has been constantly increasing. Until the 2005 financial year, a dual operation was carried out by the Department of Economic Summaries and Analysis (DSA) and the Department of Economic Statistics (DSE). Each structure then entered the most “useful” variables for their work. This led to a partial exploitation of the DFS.

To remedy this situation, the General Management recommended a harmonized operation of the DFS. To this end, the project to exploit the DSF has been selected as part of the daily activities of the Division of Informatics and Data Banks. The objective of the project is to achieve the complete capture of all DFS for the financial years 2007 and 2010 during the year 2012. In order to harmonise the use of the DSF, the DIB is responsible for the use of the data (entry, clearance, export) of the DSF and for making the data files available to the departments concerned and to the users. The DIB is supported in the process by the Department of Economic Summaries and Analysis (DSA) and the Department of Economic Statistics (DSE), the main users of these data have proven experience in the processing of DSF.

The preparatory work provided training for staff in the coding and validation of the data entry tools and the FSD clearance module. Mining work began with the codification of the DFS. The actual data entry started in October 2012 and will be completed in March 2013. The clearance will start at the end of the seizure.
