The Deputy Director General of the National Institute of Statistics, SHE ETOUNDI Joseph chaired on May 31, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the conference room of the INS, a meeting to present and validate the updated version of the indicator matrix and the dissemination schedule as part of the Africa Information Highway project.
With a view to harmonizing statistical data for the monitoring and comparison of the socio-economic and financial situation of African countries, the African Development Bank has implemented the Africa Information Highway project. At the end of the case studies on statistical governance and data management carried out by the said banking institution in 12 pilot countries, including Cameroon, an action plan was developed providing for an inventory of the data to be disseminated on the open data platform. This inventory made it possible to establish a matrix of desired indicators and a dissemination schedule. The first version of the matrix was presented and amended in January 2022 during a consultation in which the focal points of the sectoral administrations took part.
Overall, it is part of the implementation of the Improved General Data Dissemination System (GDDS-a), in terms of making socio-economic data available on time.
