Evolution of household final consumer prices in Douala in February 2022

Prices of imported food products increased by 9.6% year-on-year.

In February 2022 and compared to last month, the Household Final Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.4% after +0.1% the previous month. Compared to the same period in 2021, the general price level increased by 3.3% after +2.9% last month and +2.0% in the corresponding period of 2021. On average over the last twelve months, household final consumer prices rose by 2.1% after +1.9% in January 2022. The underlying inflation rate is 1.7%, so the inflationary pressures observed in Douala were not only maintained by fresh products (+4.4%).
