Evolution of household final consumer prices in Yaoundé in August 2022

Inflation continues to rise, driven mainly by food prices, which rose year-on-year by 14.9%.

Compared to the previous month, the general price level increased by 0.7% in August 2022. Compared to the same month in 2021, prices rose by 7.4%. On average over the last twelve months, prices have risen by 4.3%, thus being above the threshold set by the CEMAC at 3%. The core inflation rate is 3.9%.
