EVOLUTION OF INFLATION IN CAMEROON FROM 2016 TO 2021

This special note sheds light on the inflationary dynamics observed in the markets for household final consumption goods and services since 2016, as well as the main factors explaining this dynamic, which is of concern to consumers constrained by their low purchasing power as well as to public authorities concerned about better supply of markets at lower costs.

The balance sheet over the last five years (2016-2021) shows that inflation is taking hold in a context of stable nominal wages available.
