NATIONAL STRATEGY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF STATISTICS 2021 – 2030 VOLUME 1: STRATEGY PAPER

Since January 1, 2020, the Government has been implementing the National Development Strategy (SND30), the second phase of the Cameroon Development Vision for 2035 (Vision 2035) driven by the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya; Vision of a “modern and socially advanced country” Cameroon On this road traced in Vision 2035, the National Statistical Information System (SNIS) is called upon to support the Government with the production of quality information for the monitoring and evaluation of the various actions carried out at the national, sectoral and local levels. Law No. 2020/010 of 20 July 2020 governing statistical activity in Cameroon formally establishes the SNIS in this mission detailed in Articles 20 to 22. In addition, this law places the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (SNDS) at the heart of national statistical activity for greater coherence and efficiency. More specifically, article 3 of this law provides that “The production of official statistics shall be carried out within the framework of the programmes defined in the National Strategy
for the Development of Statistics”.
