Note on the evolution of household final consumer prices in Yaoundé in January 2021

Food prices down slightly

In January 2021 and compared to last month, the Household Final Consumer Price Index fell slightly (-0.1% after +0.1% last month) in the wake of the prices of food products (-0.1% after +0.1% the previous month) as well as those of housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels (-0.4% after stability the previous month). The prices of furniture, household goods and routine household maintenance (+0.3% after being stable in the previous month) accelerated and those of clothing and footwear increased less strongly than last month (+0.2% after +0.5%).
