Note on the evolution of household final consumer prices in Yaoundé in November 2020 Decline in food prices

In November 2020 and compared to last month, the Household Final Consumer Price Index decreased by 0.1% after 3 consecutive months of increase. This slight decrease is mainly due to the decrease in food products (-0.4% after +0.4% last month), housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels (-0.4% after +0.1% last month) and to a lesser extent health (-0.1% after stability last month). Conversely, the prices of furniture, household items and routine household maintenance (+0.2%) as well as leisure and culture (+0.2%) increased at the same pace as last month, those of communications (+0.3% after -0.3% last month) rebounded. Prices of clothing and footwear rose by 0.3% after being stable last month.
