Public Finances at the end of May 2012

At the end of May 2012, total budget revenue collected amounted to 1,021.6 billion, including 994.6 billion in internal revenue and 27 billion in grants. They recorded an increase of 51.7 billion (+5.3%) compared to the same period a year ago. Total expenditure amounted to 1,055.2 billion, of which 994.9 billion was expenditure made from internal financing. In comparison with May 2011, State spending increased by 115.8 billion (+12.3%). At the end of May 2012, the overall balance on a commitment basis is in deficit of 33.7 billion, proof that expenditure was well above revenue during the period mentioned above.
