Quarterly National Accounts: 1st quarter 2021

The first quarter of 2021 was marked by a moderate recovery in economic activity, resulting in GDP growth of 2.4% compared to the corresponding quarter in 2020.
On the supply side, this evolution is the result of the performance of all sectors, which recorded positive growth during this quarter, compared to the same period in 2020. The primary sector, 3.4% after 2.0% last quarter, recorded a contribution of 0.5 points to growth during this quarter. The secondary sector with growth of 2.0%, after 4.4% in the previous quarter, contributed 0.5 points to GDP growth while the tertiary sector (2.2% after 1.9%) contributed 1.1 points to the quarter’s growth.
