The International War College on a study visit to the INS

On Monday, July 24, 2023, the General Directorate of the National Institute of Statistics received a delegation of 66 officer cadets from the International War College of Yaoundé on a study visit.

Led by Colonel ABANE MBOM Jean Philippe, Deputy Commander of the International War College (ESIG), the strong delegation of senior officers of the18th promotion of the said school made a guided tour of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), as part of the teaching of the management module. The guests began the guided tour of the sensitive points of the INS headquarters building.

After this tour, the visitors were gathered in the meeting room on the7th floor where the Director General in his welcome speech, welcomed the frank collaboration that has existed for several years between the INS and the defense and security forces within the framework of the major operations carried out. In turn, Colonel ABANE MBOM took the floor to thank the Institute for the warm welcome given to them, congratulated the General Management for the architectural jewel that houses the headquarters building. After a brief presentation of each of the 66 ESIG trainees, from several African and European countries, the guests followed with interest two presentations followed by exchanges. The first presentation on the contribution of statistics in the modern governance of States and infra- and supra-state entities was presented by Mr. Barnabé OKOUDA, Head of the Department of Statistical Coordination, Cooperation and Research; and the second on the theme of Governance, Peace and Security presented by Mr. TINGA, Assistant Research Officer of the Department of Demographic and Social Statistics kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

At the end of the visit, gifts were offered to the delegation which, before taking their leave, expressed its satisfaction with the welcome given and the quality of the exchanges.
