As part of the process of implementing decentralization, which is one of the pillars of the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (NDS30), the production and dissemination of statistical information at the level of Regional and Local Authorities (RLAs) is a governance requirement. Thus, the Regional Agencies of the National Institute of Statistics (NIS), located in the ten regions, must support these new structures, namely the regions and municipalities to have in almost real time, quality statistics. And among the media for disseminating this information, the Regional Statistical Yearbook is today the most practical for responding to these concerns. Publications of regional annual compilations of all current statistics in different areas of life on the socio-economic and socio-cultural level aim at meeting the information needed by the local executive, the local council and the region. These regional annual statistical compilations, through vertical aggregation, greatly contribute to the development of the National Statistical Yearbook which is intended to be a fundamental tool for decision-making based on facts. These data generally come from local administrative sources and major national surveys disaggregated to the local level when possible. The National Institute of Statistics, as coordinator of the National Statistical Information System (NSIS), wishes to thank the various structures that regularly contribute to the production of this document by providing good quality information. Through this collaboration, they participate in the animation of the National Statistical Information System (SNIS), instituted by Law No. 2020/010 of July 20th, 2020 governing statistical activities in Cameroon
