Evolution of household final consumer prices in Yaoundé in July 2020

In July 2020 and compared to June 2020, the Household Final Consumer Price Index remained stable after an increase of 0.1% in June. The increase in the prices of clothing and footwear (+0.2% after +0.1% in June) as well as furniture, household goods and routine household maintenance (+0.1% after +0.3% in June) was offset by a fall or stagnation in the prices of other consumer functions. The prices of food products (-0.1% after +0.6% in June) in particular, fell due to the decline in the prices of fruit (-7.3% after +0.2%
last month), oils and fats (-1.1% after stability last month), milk, cheese and eggs (-0.5% after +0.1% last month), fish and seafood (-0.2% after stability last month) and meat (-0.1% after +1.8%
last month). Conversely, the prices of sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (+0.9% after stability last month) and vegetables (+0.2% after -0.6% last month) rebounded. Prices of bread and cereals remained stable after rising by 2.8% in June.
