pricesIn June 2021 and compared to last month, the Household Final Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.4% after +0.1% last month, in particular in connection with the acceleration of the prices of food products (+1.1% after +0.2% the previous month), clothing and footwear (+0.5% after +0.2% the previous month), as well as those of communications (+0.2% after +0.1% the previous month). The decline in the prices of “housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels” eased (-0.1% after -0.3% last month). The increase in food prices is the result of the rebound in the prices of oils and fats (+2.4% after -1.3% the previous month), fruit (+2.2% after -0.2% the previous month), bread and cereals (+1.1% after -0.4% the previous month), fish and seafood (+0.4% after -1.3% the previous month), and the increase in the price of vegetables (+1.9% after +1.7% the previous month). On the other hand, the prices of “milk, cheese and eggs” continued to decline (-2.9% after -2.6% the previous month) and those of meat decreased (-0.5%) after an increase last month (+1.8%). The fall in meat prices is mainly due to the fall in poultry (live chicken).
